We started our strawberry patch almost immediately after moving in last year, watered the tiny, new plants almost every day, fenced in the patch, weeded, mulched, waited and prayed. Now it looks like our patience and hard work have begun to pay off!
I firmly believe they were the sweetest strawberries I've ever tasted, just because I know we grew them oursevles. Mmmmmm!

That is so cool! I would love to grow my own food. It just never goes well between the 5 kids and 3 dogs though.

YAY! We're getting close to having some this year as well. Big difference in our methods: we put ours in the ground last year and ignored...
HA!
I forgot to plant strawberries! Boo Hoo. At least I have my green onion patch to console me. I bet those strawberries will be delicious.
The love and effort certainly pay off. The reward - like you said it, "...the sweetest strawberries.."
It is so exciting when little plants start to grow.
Isn't it fun to see things bloom that you have planted!! Happy WW!

I can't believe strawberries are popping up already! I can't wait to start putting some on the table.

Nice! I have some tomatoes to plant, and should do other veggies, but just don't have the room.
Good luck with your "harvest"!

That is exciting! I grow nothing but I'd like to grow tomatoes.
I'm curious, how many will you collect during the strawberry season?
That is super duper exciting! If I could grow anything...I would be thrilled!
